Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. depends greatly upon charitable donations from individuals and corporations in order to continue to provide charitable care, and necessary services. Your donation can dramatically affect the life of a person suffering from mental illness, substance abuse and children who suffer from abuse and neglect.
Mental illnesses are shockingly common, affecting 1 in 20 Americans, and almost every family. Age, race, gender and social class offer no protection. Mental illnesses are second only to Heart Disease in causing premature death and disability; affection more individuals than Cancer.
AND,
In 2005, an estimate 21.6 million American aged 12 or older or 9.1% of the total population was classified as having substance dependence or addiction. Alcohol & drugs (including prescription drugs) do not discriminate.
